Last weekend I've red again the Manuale of Simone Berni, the famous expert of bibliographical rarities by me already mentioned many times.
It really surprised me the precision he used to make researches and the vastness of his topics, but also his ability to narrate curious and secret anecdotes, rarely shared by bibliophiles or antiquarian librarians, who usually prefer to keep these secrets for themselves.
Every time I read it again, I remind some connections or events I forgot or miss, or some books I had recently in my hand.
In a word, I highly suggest to buy it (also only for its beautiful dust jacket, that recalls the one of the rare Steimetz's book about the Eni's president Eugenio Cefis - look at the link - ) and, why not, to buy also his other previous books.
But let's go to the post's topic.
One of the most frequent works mentioned by Berni and by many of my readers is Giuseppe Lo Presti's Il cacciatore ricoperto di campanelli, an author from Trapani who had a turbulent life and who went several times to jail.
The book is very rare, although there is currently a copy on sale at Comprovendolibri for 50 euros since March - maybe ignored because of many library stamps on the pages.
But the real Lo Presti's rarity is not Il cacciatore in the 1990 editions, but in the 1986 one, with the original title  L'indominio della discordanza. In his Manuale Berni warns us that the book is not "for beginners", but I am curious and I want to know more.
So I am asking you: do you have some photos of this book published for the Barbarossa (fake?) edition in Saluzzo?? When I have time I'm going to check it out at the library and I let you know...
