Recently I went deep in this unusual reading, based on the Generazione X described by the Canadian Douglas Coupland (his debut book, 1999).
The writer in this book, and in other ones published by various publishers (look also the uncommon and good valued Microservi - Feltrinelli 1998 - based on the computer world and Microsoft), investigates the contemporary world, with its weakness and typicalities, filling his texts with irony and sarcastic notions.
So what's this phantomatic Generazione X? According to Coupland it's a generation that was born in the Nineties, very bored by the life, that wastes many hours in the office (called by him a "non-place", like malls and fast foods too) and that is constantly seeking happiness, without really finding it.
Moreover the book is enriched by a kind of leading "lexicon" of the book's language and by funny illustrations (look on the top).
Another beautiful book to discover and collect.
