About John Dunning and his bibliophilia crimes I've already wrote a couple of years ago.
As I precisized on that occasion, the authot has written many books about this topic, but only two of them were translated in Italian (I'm making a call to publishers!!).
This one, differently from La morte sa leggere, it has never been reprinted in an "acceptable" edition, so you will have to read it like that - at least pocket-sized (very useful if you want to put it in the laggage and avoid weight impositions of the flying companies!).
The excuse is always the same: stolen book and love plots. But en passant the author systematically puts very interesting and cultured notes about book scouts, very rare American editions (for example the first very valuable Il buio oltre la siepe) and many other tricks.
I really suggest it, despite its horrible and not inviting cover.
